To apply for your first provisional driving licence online
for a car you must:
- be a resident of Great Britain
there’s a different service in Northern Ireland
- meet the minimum age requirement
- meet the minimum eyesight requirement
- not be prevented from driving for any reason
- pay the fee by MasterCard, Visa, Electron, Maestro

Special requirements
The DVSA are required to make every effort to ensure that
the theory test can be taken by all candidates. However, it is important
that you discuss your needs with them when booking the test.
